The Geological Society of Egypt
The Geological Society of Egypt is oldest and the largest society for the geosciences in Egypt. It is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of the geosciences. The Society was founded in Cairo, in 1952 by some of the pioner geologists of that time. There were 19 founder members:, including Abdel Aaal Fawzy Amer, El shazli Mohamed El Shazli, Nazmi Azer, Sayed Omara, Mohamed Lutfy Abdelkhalik, Mahmoud Zatut, George Phillip, Mohamed Samih Afia, Moharam Osman, Foad bassuni, Mamdouh Hamada, Darwish El far, Mamoud Lutfi Kabsh, Mohamed Mahmoud Ismail, Ahmed Omran Mansour, Mustafa Barka, Mahmoud Fawzi El Ramly, Galal El Din Moustafa and Atef Sabet, I n addition to the German Professor.
