Over view Of The oil Shale in Egypt
- Oil Shale is a type of Shale which have a high amount of hydro- carbon material .
- The main uses of oil Shale is production the thermal energy and in some cases to obtain some compound such as phenol groups which are not easy to extraction from oil ore.
The utilization of powdered oil Shale as power generation fuel involves many difficult technical operational and environment problems.
Since oil Shale are successful used as a raw material for cement production in west Germany. This article amphasizes, whither the Egyptian black Shale might be on equal source for a local oil Shale cement production .
In Germany oil Shale is used as a raw material for cement production, The cement production plant consists of the processing units:
Power Station
Cement work
Extraction Plant
Limiting factors are the cements of S03, P2O5 and free MgO, because they lower quality of the final product. On the opposite hiqh TOC (The organic carbon content) and calcite contents are favourite compounds.
Black Shale is restricted with phosphate bend in the upper cretaceous and its recorded at the upper parts of Qusier formation Duwi formation and the lower part of Dakhla formation.
Samples were taken from the three above formations and some section of the Esna formation. Subsurface samples were taken from the active phosphate mines which is restricted to Duwi formation, Thus a limited number of outcrops from the variegated shale were also included.
