How can someone keep himself motivated?
We human beings are masters of forgetting. Do you remember How many important long term goals you had that you forgot about completely?
Didn't you want to go to the gym? didn't you want to lose weight? what about changing your career? wasn't that an important goal?
Certainly each one of us has important goals that he wants to achieve but because of our human nature many of us forget about these goals then remember them later when something reminds us of them.
The important question now is how to keep yourself motivated all the time so that you don't forgot about your important goals?
The right way to keep yourself motivated
Betty always wanted to lose weight because she was not satisfied with her body shape.
Because she was human and because life is full of distractions she forgot about her goal for sometime until one day she saw a TV add featuring a slim model, at this point Betty remembered her goal and became motivated once again.
Now the question is, why was Betty motivated after she saw the add? simply because we human beings become motivated when something reminds us of our important goals.
This means that the right way to keep yourself motivated all the time is to find a way to constantly remind yourself of your goals all the time.
So how can someone keep reminding himself of his goals?
- 1) Symbols: Draw a symbol that can remind you of your important goals whenever you see it then put it as a desktop background, in your wallet, over your desk and over your bed. Whenever you see that symbol you will remember your goals and you will become motivated
- 2) Music: If certain music reminds you of your important goals then listen to it every now and then. Don't change your play list by excluding the only songs that remind you of your goals. If you want to keep yourself motivated then you must keep listening to whatever reminds you of your goals (see The psychology of music)
- 3) Visualize your goals: If you want to always keep yourself motivated then you constantly have to remind yourself of your goals. One of the best ways to do so is to visualize your goals often preferably each night (see How to visualize what you want)
Keeping yourself motivated
If you allowed life to distract you from your goals then you will certainly lose motivation and even forget about your goals.

That's why doing your best to keep yourself motivated by reminding yourself of your goals often is one of the best things you can do to live a better life.
