Youth revolution and birth of a new Egypt

Youth revolution and birth of a new Egypt

-         It is really an uprising to be admired. There is no doubt that the actual Egyptian youth was angry about the bad atmosphere in which we lived, including political, social and economic atmosphere. Youth was observing, mocking and rebelling against phenomena of corruption, illegal wealth, freedom oppression and intervention of security in all aspects of life. A responsible group in governmental parties monopolized power and running affairs as they like and according to their interest. All these factors were the motor of the volcano that exploded the revolution of 25 January 2011.

-         The white revolution of the youth exploded and was embraced by the people in all parts of Egypt, after the youth of the new generation exchanged their noble feelings on Internet FaceBook sites, they get to their starting point in Tahrir square thinking only about freedom, and Egypt.

-          Christians and Moslems gathered in these meetings, rich and poor, ordinary people and intellectuals, children and adults… all were claiming deliverance from the bad political situation, freedom and better future.

-         The white youth revolution reacted with the majority of people, more than 300 martyrs among the youth died in addition to about 5000 wounded.

-         This revolution proved elevation above personal interest to an objective goal, from confessional to national, from category to general. The wise youth were elevated above religious, cultural, material and social differences. The objective, since the launch of the spark, was Egypt and the future.

-         The launch of the revolution started by peaceful demonstration and unfortunately, the security cheated them and did not respect their demands. Rubber rifles penetrated in their chests, as well as tear bombs and foolish rifles of the  police. Many were killed and wounded.

-         The police suddenly disappeared and the youth formed popular committees to guard streets and properties.

-         We did not notice during the period from 25 January to 11 February, after escape of the odious monster governor, the phenomenon of aggression against a church or a Christian in the whole country.

-         The revolution of the youth led to falling of the government, pushing the spirit of dialogue in state's halls, parties HQs, Tahrir square, governorates squares, TV channels. The dialogue focused on future of Egypt and freedom.

-         Demands of the youth were:

  • Political freedom.
  • Economic development.
  • Social justice.

-         In conclusion, I would like to indicate that the rare phenomenon in this revolution is that it is the first technological revolution. A revolution that used our era's tools, mobile phones, Internet for its noble purposes, and it made FaceBook a tribune for dialogue, mobilizing the youth for demonstration and claiming rights. The regime felt after 30 years of oppression and the way is opened for birth of a new Egypt.
