هذا الانجاز الرياضي الذى خلد ذكراه مكتوب على شاهد بمنطقة الجيزة وايضا يوجد بعض الرسومات بمعبد الكرنك بمدينة طيبة التي تشير إلى هذا الانجاز . هذا الحدث لم يحقق شهرة بمصر فقط بل في بلاد الشام أيضا حيث تم العثور على العديد من الجعارين التي تمجد هذا الحدث. وحتى في العصر الكلاسيكي تعتقد مؤرخة تاريخ الفن الحديث سارة موريس، ، أن نجاح أمنحتب في الرماية وإصابة الهدف قد وضعت الأساس لمئات الأعوام التالية كما هو مرصود بالإليادة عندما يقال أن آرشيلز قد أطلق سهامه من خلال سلسلة من الأهداف الموجودة في خندق.

He typically gained fame when he shot arrows through a copper plate, while driving a chariot with the reins tied about his waist. This commemoration was monumentalized on a stele at Giza and depiction from Karnak, Thebes shows reins tied around his waist firing from a speeding chariot at a copper target. This act did not only gain fame in Egypt, but was also celebrated in the Levant area where several scarabs were found venerating such achievement. Even in the classic times, it is believed by Sara Morris, A Classical Art Historian, that Amenhotep’s target shooting success formed the basis hundreds of years later for the episode in the Iliad when Archilles is said to have shot arrows through a series of targets set up in a trench.
