كمية المطر السنوية تكون اكبر ما يمكن علي الساحل وتتناقص بسرعة كلما اتجهنا الي الداخل وتبلغ متوسط هذه الكمية نحو 80 الي 100 ملليمتر فقط في العام وتتناقص كمية المطر في الداخل فتصل الي نحو 50 ملليمتر عند خط العرض 30/30 درجة شمالا بينما تتراوح كمية المطر السنوي علي المرتفاعات الجنوبية بين 50 و 75 ملليمترا
وفي الشتاء يسقط المطر علي شكل رخات وتبلغ كميتها القصوي في شهر ديسمبر ويناير وقد تبلغ كمية المطر التي تسقط في اليوم الواحد 30 ملليمتر او قد تزيد
اما في الربيع فتقل الامطار بشكل واضح عنها في الشتاء ولكنها قد تكون رعدية وغزيرة احيانا فتسبب سيولا في المناطق المعرضة للانحدار مياه المطر كمنطقة الموقع
بينما تنعدمالمطار في فصل الصيف ويسقط المطر علي شكل رخات شديدة في اواخر شهر نوفمبر واكتوبر وهذا في فصل الخريف .

فى الشتاء تكون الرياح متغيرة عموما ، ولكنها تتميز بهبوب الرياح الجنوبية بين المعتدلة والخفيفة، على انه قد يحدث بمعدل مرة أو مرتين فى الشهر الى أن تصل سرعتها الى 50كم/ساعة أما فى الربيع فالرياح متغيرة وتهب من الشمال الشرقى والشمال وذلك علاوة على هبوبها من الجنوب الغربي فى الصباح غالبا وقد تشتد الرياح الجنوبية الحارة فى مقدمة الانخفاضات الجوية وتثير العواصف الرملية مرة أو مرتين فى الشهر وفى الصيف يكون الاتجاه السائد للرياح ما بين الشمالية والشمالية الشرقية.

تكون درجة الحرارة فى اقل فى الشتاء حيث تصل متوسط النهاية العظمى الى نحو 20درجة مئوية ويصل متوسط النهاية الصغرى الى 7 درجات مئوية ولكنه قد يهبط الى الصفر فى المناطق الداخلية المرتفعة وفى الربيع تكون درجة الحرارة متغيرة ويبلغ متوسط النهاية العظمى حوالى 26 درجة مئوية والصغرى حوالى 13 درجة مئوية و لكن الموجات الخماسينية الحارة قد تزيد درجة الحرارة عن أما فى الصيف فان درجة الحرارة تكون معتدلة قرب الساحل ،وتزداد الى الداخل
ويكون متوسط النهاية العظمى حوالي 33 درجة مئوية. أما متوسط النهاية الصغرى
فهو حوالي 18 درجة مئوية ، ودرجة الحرارة في الخريف قريبة منها في الربيع مع ميل إلى الارتفاع حيث يكون متوسط النهاية العظمى حوالي 30 درجة مئوية ، ومتوسط النهاية الصغرى حوالي 15 درجة مئوية ، وقل أن تزيد درجة الحرارة في الموجات الحرارية على 40 درجة مئوية .

تقل الرطوبة في المناطق الداخلية الصحراوية كما بموقع الدراسة فتصل الي 40%
و كلما ارتفعت درجة الحرارة كلما قلت الرطوبة اي علاقة عكسية حيث تصل الرطوبةبالموقع

مجرى الوادى الحالى والسهل الفيضى.
بالنسبة لدلتا وادى العريش والمناطق المتاخمة لها توجد ثلاث شرفات غرينية ترتفع عن المجرى الحالى للوادى وتحده من الشرق والغرب وتغطيها كليا او جزئيا الرواسب الرملية التى تمثل عموما مجموعة معقدة من الكثبان الرملية التى يزداد ارتفاعها فى الاتجاه الغربى هذا وتكثر الكثبان الهلالية فوق الشرفات المنخفضة وهى غالبا النوع من النشط الذى يخلو من الغطاء النباتى ويلاحظ انها تتقدم بدرجة ملحوظة ناحية مجرى الوادى ويتراوح ارتفاع تلك الكثبان من 10م :15م وعند مخرج وادى المعزر فى الناحية الشرقية توجد سلسلة من الكثبان الهلالية حديثة التكوين وهى قليلة الارتفاع حوالى 35 فوق منسوب الرمل الغرينى.
وتدل النماذج المختلفة لتلك الكثبان على ان الرياح الجنوبية الغربية والغربية تليها الرياح الشمالية الغربية تلعب الدور الرئيسى فى عملية التشكيل والتحرك.

تنقسم شبه جزيرة سيناء الى اربعة احواض هيدرولوجية :-

ينقسم جريان الماء عموما الي نوعين الاول عبارة عن جريان المياه علي شكل رقائق
او فرشات مائية والثاني تتجمع فيه الماه في قنوات او مجاري محدودة واذا زاد يحدث سيول
( كما حدث بموقع الدراسة ) 0
_ وينضم موقع الدراسة الي منطقة وادي العريش الذي يعتبر من اكبر الاودية واهمها
في سيناء بل انه اكبر الوديان الجافة بمصر علي الاطلاق اذا تصب فيه مياه السيول عن
طريق عدد كبير من الروافد ولذا فانه من المعتقد هو انه يمكن اقامة بعض المشروعات الري
اذا امكن التحكم فيه خاصة وان مساحة تصل الي 19500 كم ومع ذلك فان نظام وادي
العريش يعتبر هو العامل المسيطر علي سطح شمال سيناء نظرا لكثرة روافده ولان
منابعه العليا تبدأ من هضبة التيه علي ارتفاع 2000 متر تقريبا ويظهر وادي العريش بشكل
اكثر وضوحا في القسم الشرقي من شمال سيناء بينما تنتشر الكثبان الرملية في الغرب
ويصل طول وادي العريش الي 250 كم كما ان حوض الصرف يصل الي 15 كم وهو ما
يساوي نصف مساحة شمال سيناء 0

تنقسم سيناء إلي خمس أحواض مطرية وهي كالتالي :

وهي تبدأ من العريش الي رفح ونسبة المطر فيها تصل إلي 100مم عند العريش وتزداد كلما اتجهنا لتصل إلي 300 أو 350 مم وتزيد كلما ابتعدنا إلي 400 أو 500 مم .

تصل نسبة المطر من 75 – 100 م .
<!--المنطقة الساحلية الشمالية الغربية :
الساحل اشمالي للبحر المتوسط ومرتفعات سيناء تصل نسبة المطر فيه من 50 – 75 مم .
<!--منطقة شمال ووسط سيناء :
وتصل نسبة المطر فيه من 20 – 50 مم .
<!--منطقة ساحل خليج العقبة وخليج السويس :
وتصل نسبة المطر فيه إلي أقل من 25 مم .
المياه الجوفية في وسط سيناء يصل عمقها من 700 – 1000 متر من سطح الأرض وكلما اتجهنا إلي وسط سيناء تكون المياه بعيدة عن السطه لتصل الي 1500 متر من سطح التربة بينما تكون في العريش من 30 – 70 متر من سطح الأرض .

إن تصرف مياه الأمطار داخل الطبقات التحت السطحية تكون خزانات مياه جوفية وبالتنقيب عليها بواسطة عمليات الاستكشاف والحفر فإنه يمكن استخدامها لأغراض الشرب والري وغير ذلك من الاستخدامات حسب درجة العذوبة والملوحة.
يقول الله تعالى " وَأَنْزَلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً بِقَدَرٍ فَأَسْكَنَّاهُ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَإِنَّا عَلَى ذَهَابٍ بِهِ لَقَادِرُونَ"المؤمنون18.

(1) الخزان الجوفي الحر Unconfined Aquifer
ويحد هذا الخزان طبقة صماء من أسفله أما أعلاه متصلاً اتصالاً مباشراً بالضغط الجوى ويحده المستوى المائي الأرضي من أعلاه وتتصل هذه الطبقة اتصالا وثيقا بسطح الأرض حيث تتأثر بمياه الري والأمطار.
(2) الخزان الجوفي المحصور Confined Aquifer
ويحد الطبقات الحاملة للمياه من أسفل ومن أعلى طبقات صماء غير منفذة للمياه وبهذا تكون المياه داخل الخزان تحت ضغط كبير وتكون بهذا معزولة عن المياه السطحية ومصدر هذه المياه عادة يكون بعيداً جداً. وإذا كان الضغط البيزومترى لهذه الطبقات أعلا من سطح الأرض قيل عن الخزان بأنه خزان ارتوازي Artesian Aquiferوالآبار الارتوازية تندفع منها المياه دون الحاجة لاستخدام مضخات ويوجد مثل هذه الخزانات بالصحارى المصرية مثل الوادي الجديد.
(3) الخزان شبه المحصور Semi Confined Aquifer
وفيه إحدى الطبقات التي تحده من أعلى أو من أسفل ذات نفاذية ضئيلة ومنه تتسرب المياه إلى الطبقات الخارجية أو اليها.
(4) الخزان الجوفي المعزول Perched Water
الخزان الجوفي المعزول
وهو نتيجة للتراكيب الجيولوجية وتوجد ارتفاعات وانخفاضات في الطبقات غير المنفذة فعند الانخفاضات تحتجز المياه الجوفية وفى هذه الحالة يكون الخزان الجوفي محدود وغير متصل بأي خزانات أخرى ومصدرها عادة أما سطحي أو نتيجة للتسرب البطئ من خزانات أخرى تحته.
(5) الخزان الأثري Connate Water
وهذه المياه الجوفية عادة تكون محتجزة لحظة تكوين الصخور أو منذ إنشائها وهذه المياه عادة ليس لها أي اتصال أو مصادر خارجية.
