I think that nice teachers, fun activities and small classes like mine make a good school.
Sinead, 12, Killarney

Good sports facilities.
Heather, 12, Swansea

The school has to be welcoming, with friendly staff and pupils and reasonably clean and respectable - not too posh but not really scabby either. I think exam results give a false impression because many school excel in other categories.
Rubinda, 24, Reading

I think a good school is one with discipline but is not too strict, friendly people and an anti-bullying policy, as well as an anti-social behaviour policy.
Anwen, 12, Cardiff

Having fun as well as learning.
Fern, 11, Newton Aycliffe

Our school isn't thought of very highly because of the uniform. It is just a yellow jumper. YELLOW!!!!
Shemala, 11, Ellesmere

What makes a good school is the quality of its teachers, its facilities but most importantly is its desire to care and foster for each of its pupils.
Chris, 13, Newbridge

Good students, nice friends and nice teachers.
Cecelia, 14, Banbridge

I think that a good school should have a strict policy on kids that constantly misbehave.
Solice, 11, Adsa

I think good children make a good school. My school has an extremely bad reputation but that's because of the students. If you are surrounded by people not that bothered about studying, how are you meant to feel?
Fouzia, 12, Birmingham

I think that the best sorts of schools are the normal comprehensives. Mixes boys and girls, friendly teachers that chat to you and all sorts of kids from different backgrounds that do not receive any discrimination for being from a different country, poor or not that clever
Hannah, 13, Leicester

A good school should have a nutritional lunch, math, spelling, reading, science and history and after school clubs and a music program.
Breann, 13, Pleasanton

My school is considered a great school because it is an international school. There are over 70 countries represented among the students. Also there is no bullying and the school is reasonably small.
Jenny, 13, Houston

I think that a good school is when the teachers know when to have fun and when to teach, that they deal with the troublemakers so they don't disrupt the class, that the students are enthusiastic and that the facilities are clean. (And good food!)
Charlotte, 15, Calgary, Canada

I think the teachers and the pupils make the school. It's the atmosphere that is created by these people and this is what you will remember when you are older, not whether your school had a big sports hall!
Sara, 15, Surrey

A good school should have a good working environment, properly working computers and decent teachers.
Joanna, 13, Birmingham

What makes a good school for me is a school that promotes equality, and treats all its pupils equally. Luckily for me, that's my school!
Amy, 13, York

Definitely nice teachers and toilets that have toilet paper!
Lana, 13, Swindon

Good teachers makes pupils want to learn more and that makes it a good school.
Dan, 12, Bradford

It's not necessarily the facilities that make a good school, it's more the teachers, the way they teach and treat you. If you are rewarded for good work and stuff then that makes you feel better about yourself and makes you feel better about your school.
Liz, 15, London

My school is perfect! I love it. We have A LOT of after school clubs! Even Really weird ones. We have a talking backwards club!!
Harriet, 12, Taunton

My school has a good reputation and I think it's down to the fact you need good teachers that teach well, extra curricular activities, and kind kids!
Gilly, 12, Harrow

Nice tasting food and clean toilets at my school and we have vending machine.
Daisy, 11, Bristol

More computers at my school than anywhere else in the country, and we learn A LOT here.
Ed, 13, Lincoln

Our school has a good reputation because there are good facilities and everything is kept clean and tidy. Wearing uniform seems a pleasure to us too and we receive good education.
Laurel, 14, Birkhill

A good school is a school who deals with the bullies, has a variety of subjects to chose from and has good after school facilities.
Michelle, 14, Huddersfield

Well, lots of things but mainly teachers that understand their pupils and have a mixture of lessons not cramming the same one in on the same day. I know it is mad but toilets can say a lot about a school!
Becky, 10, Oswestry

My motto is if you're nice to a teacher they are nice to you. That works for my school.
Vicky, 14, Lancaster

Good schools have very good facilities and lots of enthusiastic pupils.
Oliver, 11, Amersham

I think schools should have classes based on all-round ability, not age.
Amy, 12, Leeds

Our school is brilliant because we socialise a lot with each other. Our school only has three years so far. We're a Christian school, with lots of facilities and after and during school activities. I'll miss it when I leave.
Alex, 14, Ingleby Barwick

A good school is where the teachers are nicer and NO bullying about because I think bullying should stop.
Rachel, 12, London

For the troublemakers to be sent to a different school!
Gina, 11, Bristol

I think that in a good school there should be a lot of after-school clubs, but not just sport. At my school they have introduced a lot of language clubs as well as religious groups and my form tutor just started a club in which specialists come in to teach us drama, music, creative writing and art. Now, with all these clubs, plus others going on, more people are taking an interest in their learning, and school has become a better place.

Our school is really good because we socialize more. Like we play sports with other schools a lot and host lots of activities. St. Paul's School rocks!!!
Kirstie, 10, Hastings

I think it depends on the area you live in and the type of kids at the school, if the children are troublemakers the school is not going to have a good reputation as they won't do much work. But if the school has well behaved kids who want to learn, their results will be better and their reputation will be high.
Hannah, 14, Ipswich

I think it's a great idea staying at the same school all through your school life, as many people find it hard switching schools.
Michael, 13, Edinburgh

I love my school because I've got a lot of sport clubs to go to, even swimming. Plus I have problems with homework and most of the teachers are good.
Tanya, 12, Manchester

My school has a very good reputation but is very sports-orientated because we are a sports college but next year for the sixth form I am hoping to go to a grammar school for my A-Levels.
Lizzie, 15, Oxford

I think my school's fine. The teachers are friendly, and there's a great atmosphere. It's also fun because boys and girls are taught together.
Laura, 14, Launceston

My school has a really good reputation and I think that's because boys and girl are taught
