varieties cultivated in Behira Governorate
(Case study at the center of Abu Homs)
Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Farag Kassem
Prime Researcher
Agricultural Economics Research Institute
SUMMARY
Research was a study of productivity and economic efficiency of the most important Status of wheat varieties planted in the province of Homs Abu lake in order to determine the best varieties and the possibility of such publication and dissemination of planting on the same current area in line with the nature of agricultural land the subject of study, and the economic development of proposals and recommendations to increase the wheat production area of research.
The research in achieving its objectives on the use of descriptive analysis method for the interpretation of the most important economic variables related to the production of wheat area of research, quantitative analysis method to determine the factors affecting production in line with economic logic and statistical. Also adopted a search on the field data for a random sample of 150 farms collected during the growing season for 2011.
Through study and analysis of research found many of the results associated with the production of wheat, the status of Abu Homs in Behira Governorate at the level of the most important varieties cultivated in question and the most important of these results include: (1) possible arrange the most important varieties of wheat cultivated area of research, according to indicators of production efficiency and economic development are as follows: Sakha 94 class is ranked first, followed by the second class Sakha 93, then comes sycamore Gemaza class 9 in the third place, the class of sycamore Gemaza 7 in the fourth place, and finally comes Giza 168 in fifth place. (2) The most important variables affecting the production of wheat Giza 168 is a seed, manure, phosphate fertilizer (at the positive impact), human labor, pesticides (at the impact of negative). The variables affecting the production of sycamore Gemaza class 7 is hours of work machines, seeds, manure, phosphate fertilizer, pesticides (positive effect), human labor (at the impact of negative). While the variables affecting the production of class 9 are the sycamore Gemaza seeds, manure (at the positive impact), the human labor. (at the impact of negative). And variables affecting the production of Sakha 93 class hours of work is automated, seeds, manure (positive effect). Finally, the variables affecting the production of class Sakha 94 are seeds, manure (with effect positive). (3) In the case of the first proposal (use the upper limit of the volume of economic resources that impact positive on the production function and the minimum size of the economic resources of influence negative the production function) and the second proposal (agriculture product was the most productive area of research) and the third proposal (raising the average production equivalent of each type implanted region of the search to the upper limit for the production of acre sample search) will lead to increased wheat production and net returns compared to production and the net effective yield.
Find and recommend the following: (1) Need to focus on the preparation of training courses and continuing education to increase the skills and experience of farmers to adopt modern production methods in agriculture. (2) The need to provide improved seeds of high productivity of farmers in a timely and affordable. (3) Concern the provision of production inputs of various kinds. (4) The necessity of increasing soil fertility. (5) Rely on the transfer of training to train workers in excess of the economic activities of other agricultural non-traditional (6) Increase the efficiency of agricultural extension system through training of extension workers and increase their knowledge and ability.
