Verily a good ending entails a good start,

So make sure you master the whole art.

To give somebody a deaf ear,

Is not dubbed listening, my dear,

The whole thing is about attention,

So as to attain comprehension.

Be positive in your manner, though,

Don't let anything stop the flow.

Interruption is not to occur at all,

Lest an iota, then, might fall.

It is not the words we are after,

Stay alert for even laughter.

For non-verbal clues, not uttered,

Give meanings, barely redundant.

Speakers to be fully focussed on,

In order for the meaning to run.

Listening to native speakers is our aim,

To follow in their footsteps like a beam.

Our students are our depository,

Who will bring about our glory,

Not just as mortal earthlings here,

But as chaste nymphs and immortal kids there,

Maidens and youths of perpetual beauty,

As long as we have done our duty.

To dwell there  in Allah's bounties,

Reaping the fruit of hymns and hallelujahs.
