This website discusses management standards. For many years, international 
standard setting bodies have used experts to develop management standards that 
codify existing best practices. In order to promote understanding and to help encourage 
the use of these important standards, we’ve translated some of them into plain English.

International organizations such as ISO, IEC, ITU, and ILO have developed standards 
to mange the quality of products and services, to assure the safety of medical devices 
and food products, to control risk, to protect information, and to ensure that business 
continues whenever disruptive incidents occur. They’ve also published standards that 
are used to protect the environment, the health and safety of workers, and the integrity 
of supply chains. Taken together, these international standards offer a wealth of 
knowledge and information that both public and private organizations can use to 
improve their practices, to enhance their performance, and to achieve success.
