Ahmed El Sakka

Ahmed El Sakka, comes from an artistic family; his father is director Salah El Sakka, his grandfather is Abdo El Serougy, the singer. After graduating from the Egyptian Academy of Arts, El Sakka began his acting career immediately in Egyptian mini-series, and ended up co-starring in several of the most important series broadcasted during the holy month of Ramadan.

Lately, the cinema witnessed a string of Egyptian films that introduced new faces, that caused radical changes in the box-office, and these new key players will be ruling the super stars' map, besides the fat paychecks! These days, Ahmed El Sakka is truly considered the actor of the moment. His breakthrough performance in Se3idy Fel Gam3a El Amrikeya (1998) and Hammam Fe Amsterdam gave this young actor the attention he needed to become a big star.

Ahmed first got into acting while he was still in high school, as he caught the eye of the famous writer Osama Anwar Okasha while performing the play Khodlak Kalb in Alexandria 1991. Okasha then introduced him to director Mohamed Fadel, who gave him the role of Said Shargoush in his TV series El Nawa.

Following with a string of TV series, Nesf Rabie El Akhar, Helm El Ganoub, Ahmed slowly built his fame until he got the leading part in the hit summer flick Short we Fanela we Cap (2000), for which Ahmed won the best actor award.
Although this film helped El Sakka join the leading stars' category, he didn't hesitate when he was offered a small role in Ayam El Sadat, recognizing the political importance of the movie, and wanting to take part in it. The actor's efforts and hard work paid off at the end as President Hosni Mubarak awarded all the cast of Ayam el Sadat film for their excellent performance.

Next came yet another success; Africano, which Ahmed stated was the film he 'found himself in.' 'What attracted me to Africano,' said Ahmed, 'is that it is a simple, beautiful story told with high production values, using advanced techniques but without ignoring the acting element. This is something I have always dreamt of.'

His following film, Mafia, was the most acclaimed film of 2002 and grossed over 14 million EGP in the Egyptian Box office. Ahmed El Sakka is now set to break his own record and confirm his No. 1 leading man status with  Tito, then came Harb Atalia this movie had really great art work and summed alot of popular stars such as Razan, Nelly Karim currently he latest movie is 3en el 3esh2 we el hawa showing in cinemas all over Cairo.

As for his personal life, Ahmed is a devoted family man; he married the love of his life, Maha, in 1999 and is now the father of a young boy; Yassin. Ahmed El Sakka's favorite actors are Ahmed Zaki and Yousra. His idol is the world famous and international actor Omar El Sherif.
