Major 500-Acre Technology Hub Near Visakhapatnam to Transform India's Seafood Sector
Kings Infra Ventures Limited has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Andhra Pradesh to develop a massive, state-of-the-art aquaculture technology park. The project, valued at approximately $282 million (₹2,500 crore), will span 500 acres near Srikakulam, close to Visakhapatnam (Vizag). The initiative is designed to establish Andhra Pradesh—already India's largest aquaculture-producing state—as a global hub for smart, technology-driven, and sustainable seafood production. It will be India's first fully AI-driven aquaculture park.
Investment and Infrastructure
The total investment of $282 million is planned in two phases:
Direct Investment: Kings Infra and its partners will directly invest about $56.38 million (₹500 crore) to build the core infrastructure. This includes:
Processing units
Hatcheries
Indoor farming systems (such as RAS systems)
Multi-species culture units
Advanced R&D facilities
An automated processing line
A dedicated Marine Nutraceutical & Bio-actives Unit to produce value-added ingredients like Omega-3 oils, marine collagen, astaxanthin, and seaweed-based bioactives.
Indirect Investment: Another $225.52 million (₹2,000 crore) is anticipated through ancillary industries, MSME participation, tank-based farming systems, and renewable energy clusters.
Andhra Pradesh has pledged swift support, with MSME Minister Kondapalli Srinivas confirming that the government will provide single-window clearance for land identification and all necessary statutory approvals. The District Collector of Srikakulam has been appointed to fast-track the process, allowing Phase I operations to begin as soon as the land is finalized.
Technology and Capacity Building
A key differentiator for the Kerala-based company’s venture is the integration of its proprietary AI-powered operating system, BlueTechOS. This platform, which will be built and deployed from Vizag, will enable:
Real-time water quality monitoring
Predictive disease alerts
Automated feeding
Machine-learning analytics
Complete digital farm management across the entire aquaculture value chain.
The project's Aquaculture Skill & Innovation Centre is set to be a significant training hub, aiming to train and certify 5,000 professionals over five years. The training will focus on modern technologies like IoT-enabled tanks, AI-based farm management, and strict biosecurity practices. This effort directly supports the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister’s Vision 2030 of creating one entrepreneur in every household.
Production and Financial Outlook
The park will focus on year-round production and diversification of export markets by supporting multi-species culture. This includes popular species like shrimp (L. Vannamei and black tiger), seabass, grouper, tilapia, and mud crab, among other high-value freshwater and marine species.
The agreement was signed during the recent CII partnership summit held at Visakhapatnam. Shaji Baby John, Chairman and Managing Director of Kings Infra Ventures Ltd, remarked that the park "will unlock new frontiers for the Blue Economy, generate significant economic and employment opportunities, and set global benchmarks for responsible food production."
The company, which was founded in 1987 and is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange, reported strong recent financial performance. Consolidated net profit saw a 22.36 percent year-on-year increase in the second quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal, reaching approximately $478,000 (₹4.24 crore). Total income rose to approximately $4.9 million (₹43.45 crore) from $3.44 million (₹30.56 crore) in the comparable review period, driven by strong order flows from Europe, Vietnam, and China.
