Redmouth Grouper - Aethaloperca rogaa range from the Red Sea to to South Africa throughout the tropical Islands of the Indian Ocean, and eastward to at the western Pacific Ocean.

The can reach lengths of up to two feet in length

Although not visible here they grouper gets its name from the color of the inside of its mouth which is light pink to a bright red color. 

Redmouth grouper are found over reefs and in lagoons. They feeds mainly on small fishes and crustaceans and they themselves are consumed by people for food.

Juveniles have a white border on the tail fin. 

Some other unintersting identification facts are that the dorsal fin has 9 spines and 17 or 18 soft rays. The anal fin will have 3 spines and 8 or 9 soft dorsal rays.
