تحقيق التنمية المستدامة والنهوض بالقطاع الزراعى باستخدام التقنيات الحديثة في مكافحة الامراض النباتية والنيماتودية .

أهداف 

1 - دراسة وتشخيص المسببات المرضية من نيماتودا وفطريات        وبكتريا وفيروسات

2 - تحديد المظاهر المرضية التي تظهر علي النباتات المصابة.

3 - تحديد الظروف البيئية التي تساعد علي انتشار الامراض النباتية . 

4- دراسة الظواهر المرضية المركبة 

5 - دراسة وتقدير الخسائر الناتجة الامراض النباتية 

6 - دراسات علي أمراض ما بعد الحصاد 

7- دراسة وتحديد أنسب الطرق الملائمة لمكافحة الامراض النباتية 

والتي تشمل :

• المكافحة البيولوجية 

• المكافحة الطبيعية والزراعية

• استخدام الملخصات النباتية 

• اسنخدام الكيماويات الامنة

• استخدام المقاومة المستحثة

• المكافحة المتكاملة للأمراض النباتية

 Department vision 

Plant Pathology is the study of organisms and environmental conditions that causes plant diseases and to be a leader in interdisciplinary approach to research and training to reduce the impact of pathogens on plants. The advancement of scientific research that will control plant diseases by using alternatives to pesticides for agricultural product healthy and free of pesticides.

Department goals

1. Diagnosis of plant diseases caused by nematode, fungi, bacteria and viruses.

2. Characterization of plant diseases symptoms.

3. Determine the environmental conditions conducive to the spread of plant diseases.

4. Study of pathological phenomena compound.

5. Estimate the crops losses due to plant diseases.

6. Studies on Post-harvest diseases.

7. Determine the most appropriate ways to plant diseases control. which includes:

1. Biological control

2. Natural and agricultural control

3. Use plant extracts in plant diseases management. 

4. Use chemicals safety.

5. Induced resistance.
