Ivory Statuette of King Khufu. This tiny statuette is the only surviving representation of King Khufu, the builder of the great pyramid in Giza. The king is shown wearing the red crown of Lower Egypt (North of Egypt) and seated on a throne carved with his Horus name on the right side. It was discovered by Flinders Petrie in 1903 in Abydos, where initially the body was found without the head. Petrie then stopped all excavation in order to locate the head. His search proved fruitful when it was found three weeks later, after carefully examining every grain of sand - Old Kingdom - Room R37تمثال صغير من العاج للملك خوفو وهو التمثال الوحيد الذى عثر عليه للملك خوفو صاحب الهرم الأكبر بالجيزه. هذا التمثال يمثل خوفو وهو يرتدي التاج الأحمر تاج الشمال ويجلس علي كرسي العرش الذي نقش عليه إسمه. وقد عثر فلندرز بيترى علي هذا التمثال عام ١٩٠٣ فى معبد فى ابيدوس حيث عثر على جسم التمثال أولاً ولم يعثر على الرأس ، قام بترى آنذاك بوقف كل عمليات الحفائر فى المنطقة حتى يتم العثور على التمثال حيث قام العمال بغربلة الرمال إلي أن تم العثور على الرأس بعد ثلاث أسابيع - الدولة القديمة - قاعة٣٧
