Akhenaton kissing his daughter
<!--<!--
Now we are standing in front of a statue of King Akhenaton while kissing his daughter. It is made out of limestone and discovered at Tell El Amarna. He is shown sitting on a throne and wearing the blue war crown and a long tunic with sort sleeves. We can see the ureaus attached to the forehead for royalty.
The female figure on the lap of Akhenaton was believed to be his daughter mryt itn or Queen Kiya a less known wife of Akhenaton from her hair wig that was typical to that of Kiya.
This lady turns her face upwards toward that of her father’s to receive a kiss whole gently touching his arm. We can see that her hair wig shows the usual side lock of hair as sign of youth, her feet rests upon a taller pedestal. This statue is in an unfinished state but it clearly shows the relationship between him and his daughter to show love, affection and fatherhood. This was always shown in the Amarna art during this time. The artist was allowed to enter the royal palace to record some events.
