ABSTRACT :
Geophysical well-logging techniques were used to study some metallic and non-metallic minerals in Egypt. The studied metallic minerals include gold, ilmenite, and iron ore, while the studied non-metallic minerals include coal, phosphate, potash and sulphur.
Qualitative interpretation of geophysical well-logs aimed at determination of lithology and stratigraphy of the penetrated rock units. While the quantitative interpretation of geophysical well-logs could be used to determine ore reserves, ore grade, metallic content of minerals, petrophysical properties of minerals like electric resistivity, self potential, natural radioactivity, density, neutron porosity, volume of shale, groundwater properties ( if present ), and geothermal gradient inside the studied wells.
