The department is aiming to be the best Egyptian Pathological Research Department in the fields of pre-clinical research, early diagnosis and predicting the extent of aggression of diseases at the level of tissues and cells.

Mission:

1- In the field of malignant tumors:

- Applying modern techniques such as image analysis and various biochemical indications for accurate diagnosis and early detection of cancer.

- Investigation of the mechanisms of malignant tumor formation and to clarify the roles of different genes in carcinogenesis using the techniques of immunohistochemistry and molecular biology.

- Studying the microscopic environment of the tumor and the factors contributing to its behavior and metastasis, trying to explore modern ways to resist cancer cells spreading.

2- In the field of health, environment and nutritional research:

- Researches on diabetes, obesity, hepatic and renal diseases. Study of various environmental effects on the body systems on pathological bases and the development of preventive and therapeutic means.
