Evaluate the effect of fasting in Ramadan month on ureteric stone passage

ABSTRACT
This work aims to evaluate the effect of fasting in Ramadan month on ureteric stone passage. Two groups of patients with upper and middle ureteric stone (range from 5-9 mm), in Al-Sadder Medical City. One group(100 cases) are fasting in Ramadan month and the second group (100 cases) are not fasting. The two groups were evaluated 14 days after ESWL to assess stone passage. The results of the present study indicated that in fasting group, 43% has the stone pass to ltients than non fasting ones.ower ureter while only in 21% in non fasting groups. In conclusion, the stone passage down the ureter is more in fasting ones.
