Mychorrhiza and Its Importance to the plants

Abstract:

          Mycorrhizae are a new name for a symbiotic association between plant roots and certain fungi. There are three type of this association:

Ectomycorrhizae, endomycorrhyzae and ectenomycorrhizae. The role of the mycorrihizae in crop improvement either by enhancing phosphorous uptake from the soil or protect the roots from the phytopathogenic soil borne fungi will be discussed.
