Chinese shipbuilding delivered its first workboat to Norwegian aquaculture vessel supplier

The vessel – a 21-meter catamaran-style boat dubbed the Nabcat 2112 Hybrid – isone of two vessels Moen, which describes itself as the world’s largest supplier of working boats to the aquaculture industry, contracted Zhongshan, China-based Jianglong to build.

“The vessel incorporates specialized cold-resistant systems to ensure reliable performance in Norwegian and similar high-latitude frigid waters,” a Zhongshan government release about the transaction said. “Its robust design enables sustained fishing and aquaculture activities in challenging maritime conditions.”

In the same release, Xi Fangyuan, board secretary of Jianglong, said the Moen Marin contract was his company’s “breakthrough” into the Northern European market.
