الفِكْرُ ساهٍ

 

الـفِكْـرُ ســاهٍ، وهٰـذا الـقَـلْـبُ مُـفـتقَـدُ

والنَّفسُ حارتْ وَعَيْني هُدهُدٌ رَصِـدُ

 

إذ رُحتِ جَفَّت جُذوري إثرَها وَرَقِي

كــأنَّ زَرعيَ مَـهـشــومٌ ومُـحتَـصَدُ

 

وَذاكَ حَقْـلي غَـدتْ قَفرًا مَزارعُـهُ

لا الـظـلُّ مدَّ ولا نَـبـعًا بـهــا تَـجِدُ

 

عَـجـفـــاءُ حبَّتُها، غبراءُ ساحَتُها

هـوجاءُ هيـئـتُـها، والشّرُّ مُـجتَهِدُ

 

وظَـنّ حشْدُ الأعادي نومَها سَكَنًا

مَدُّوا الطَّعامَ وفي بيْتِ الغَبَا قَعَدوا

 

لٰكِنْ خيولُ العُلا قالَتْ وما هَجَعَتْ

مـن تـحتِها جـمرَةٌ تُـذكَى وتَـتَّــقِـدُ

 

دونَ الرّمادِ تَرَى العَنْقاءَ قد دُمِلَت

كُوني وَعُـودي لعَـلَّ الـشَّملَ يتّحدُ

 

يا أمَّتي سَابِقي الأزْمانَ وانتَفِضي

ما نَفعُ عَيشٍ لِمَن في الغَفوِ يَنفرِدُ

 

جمعًا نُضيءُ الهُدى في رأسِ خَيْمَتِنا

العـلمُ حَـشـوَتُها والـعَـدْلُ مُسْتَـنـدُ

 

أبشرْ أخي قَـد بَـدا مَـن مَـدَّ غيـبَـتَـهُ

يا رَوضُ سَعْدًا، وَيَا سَعدَيكَ يا بَلَدُ!

 

My Scattered Mind

 

My mind is scattered, my heart is lost,

My eye like a hoopoe's, my soul tempest-tossed.

 

Since you departed, my roots have withered away,

My leaves have dried up, like a field in decay.

 

My land is barren, its farms desolate and wasted,

No shade extends nor a spring can be tasted.

 

Its fruits are meager, its soil dusty and dry,

Shadows of evil lurk, their viciousness nigh.

 

The enemy's hordes thought their slumber was sound,

They feasted and dwelt in the house of ignorance, they found.

 

But the horses of pride are not sleeping, but dozing,

Beneath them lies a smoldering ember that's glowing.

 

Beneath the ashes, the phoenix awaits to rise once more,

Be and return, perhaps our family will reunite as before.

 

Oh, my people! Rise and strive against the tides of time,

For there is no purpose to living if we choose to slumber and rhyme.

 

Together we ignite the beacon of guidance atop our tents,

With knowledge as its fuel, and justice as its guiding sense.

 

Be optimistic, my brethren, he who was absent has returned,

Let the orchards rejoice, and let our land be doubly spurned.
